Baldur’s Gate 3 features tons of secret items and unlockables for players to encounter throughout their lengthy adventures. The BG3 Mirror of Loss is one of the best optional items in the game, as it provides players with a permanent stat upgrade that no one should miss out on.

BG3 Mirror of Loss Location

There are two different places where players are able to find the Mirror of Loss in BG3: the Gauntlet of Shar and the House of Grief. Seeing it in the Gauntlet of Shar in Act 2 at X: -645, Y: -735 is pretty pointless since the mirror is broken at this point and useless.

Instead, players will want to wait until Act 3. Once you get to the House of Grief in the story, you’ll find the true Mirror of Loss location around X: -473, Y: -1650. Every single party member can use the mirror to gain a permanent boon, which we recommend.

How to Use BG3 Mirror of Loss

To start, someone in the party must pass an Arcana check on the Mirror of Loss in BG3. It is a 25 DC roll so be careful with that. Once you are done with this, every party member you want to get a boost on will also need to pass a 25 DC Religion check. Once a party member passes this, they must pick an ability they have.

This ability will get a curse on it, which gives a -2 penalty on it. In exchange, though, the party member will also receive a +2 permanent bonus to the ability of your choosing. While the curse sucks, it is temporary unlike the boost. As such, it’s best to have every party member interact with the mirror. To remove the curse, all you need to do is have a long rest or use the Remove Curse spell.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available right now for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
