Added in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s The Teal Mask DLC, Yanma is a dual-type Bug and Flying Pokemon. It evolves into Yanmega, but only when specific conditions are met. Here’s how to evolve Yanma into Yanmega in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How do I evolve Yanma into Yanmega in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
To evolve Yanma into Yanmega in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it must know the move Ancient Power. Once it’s learned the move, the Pokemon will automatically evolve into Yanmega. Yanma automatically learns Ancient Power once it reaches level 33, meaning you’ll have to get your Yanma to at least this level to evolve it.
If you catch a Yanma and it’s over level 33, press the X button to open the main menu, click on Yanma, select “Check summary,” then tab over to its “Moves and Stats” screen. Here, press A and then choose “Remember moves” to bring up a menu showing all of the Pokemon’s moves it’s ever been able to learn. Select Ancient Power from this list to make it learn the move, then level up your Yanma once to trigger its evolution into Yanmega.
Where do I find Yanma in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
Currently, you can only catch Yanma in The Teal Mask DLC. If you only own the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet base game, you’ll need to trade with another player to get Yanma, as it only appears on the Kitakami map.
If you do own The Teal Mask, you can find Yanma in both the southern and northern sections of the Kitakami map. The most consistent place I’ve found is at the Crystal Pool, northwest of Kitakami Hall.
