Chingling and Chimecho are back once more in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. With the release of The Teal Mask DLC, players can finally catch these two Pokemon again. That is, of course, if you go through one of two methods to obtain this line. Here’s everything you need to know about how to capture both Pokemon.

Chingling is an adorable Generation 4 baby Pokemon who returned in The Teal Mask DLC. You can catch it in the wild in the Kitakami region if you head to the Infernal pass area. In this part, you can often see the little guy flying around the rocky areas. Just keep an eye out, as the Pokemon is quite small and hard to see.

Alternatively, you can catch Chingling in some Tera Raid battles. It is seen randomly in 1 and 3-star ones. Because this is random, though, it can mean that it is a bit easier to simply catch the Pokemon the normal way.

Once you have a Chingling, you are then able to evolve it into Chimecho. To get this Psychic-type Pokemon, you need to get Chingling’s Friendship to 220 or higher. There are quite a few ways to do this, including using a Friend Ball, Luxury Ball, various berries, and traveling around the region battling with Chingling. Once your Friendship is high enough, simply level it up and it will evolve into Chimecho.

Let’s be real, though: that can be a time-consuming method. There is another way to get Chimecho and that is by catching it in the random Tera Raid battles. It shows up in only 4-star ones in the Kitakami region. This is quite limited, so it can take time to see this Pokemon appear this way.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC, The Teal Mask, is available now on Nintendo Switch. The Indigo Disk is coming in Winter 2023.
