As with any new patch in Genshin Impact, players have the opportunity to earn a new skin for one of the most popular characters in the game. Kaeya has a new outfit that players can get known as the Sailwind Shadow skin. This one gives a nice royal vibe to the character with the swaying decorations and intricate details. The best part about the Sailwind Shadow Kaeya skin in Genshin Impact 3.8 is that you can earn it for free. That’s right, you don’t have to spend any currency to pick up this skin, at least until August 16, 2023. Here’s what you need to do.

How to Earn a Free Kaeya Skin in Genshin Impact 3.8

The tough part about the free Kaeya skin in Genshin Impact is that players must grind quite a bit if they would like to pick this one up. You need to collect a grand total of 150 Joyeux Vouchers during the Secret Summer Paradise Event for this skin. There are other rewards and items you can get through the event, but the most sought-after one is this free outfit.

To get the Joyeux Vouchers while this limited-time event is running, there are a few different things you can do. Here are the seven main objectives and activities you can take part in:

  • Completing all of the various lamp, projector, and water puzzles
  • Doing time trials
  • Getting voucher boxes
  • Opening up all of the treasure chests in the Veluriyam Mirage event area
  • Riding the Choo-Choo carts around the area

Simply head on over to the Veluriyam Mirage event area and do everything you can find there to earn these vouchers. If you complete most of the content, such as the chests and puzzles, you’ll earn enough for this skin. Be sure to do so before 3.8 ends, though, as the next patch will remove the free option for this Kaeya skin. When this happens, it will be put it up for sale in the shop.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices.
