Starfield features a large variety of creatures and humans to battle against throughout the game, but none are as menacing, terrifying, and massive as the Terrormorph. This game’s take on the Xenomorphs from the Alien sci-fi horror franchise is a tough one to take down.

How to Take Down a Terrormorph in Starfield

You can encounter the Terrormorphs for the first time in Starfield in a few different ways, but none are easy or any less horrifying than the others. Whether you visit the planet Kreet or take on the UC Vanguard faction storyline, you are bound to come across these monsters at some point.

When you do, you’ll find that Terrormorphs are among the hardest enemies in the entire game, even when you’re on New Game+. Terrormorphs are large monsters with many appendages. They are fast, deadly and can take large amounts of health with a single swing.

If you are doing the initial UC Vanguard quest, this one is rather easy. Stick to the main objectives of activating the turrets and the Terrormorph will go down quite quickly and easily this way. But in other situations, you don’t have those luxuries on your side.

In these horrifying situations, you’ll want to keep your distance as much as possible. Though it can shout at you and push you back, this doesn’t do much damage, so staying far away is crucial. However, you’ll find most weapons don’t deal much damage.

This means it is a game of patience as you have to maneuver around, fire away, run around, fire, and more for a lengthy period of time until its health is done for. The worst part is the best weapon for this type of encounter is the shotgun. This is because it takes huge chunks of the Terrormorph’s health out, but that would require risky close-range techniques.

But if you can keep the pattern up of dodging, fighting, dodging, and fighting, you can eventually beat the Terrormorph. Just know that even at level 37, it took me almost 10 minutes to defeat one recently. This is due to the level scaling in this game.

Starfield is available for the Xbox Series X and PC.
