If you are like me, you probably run into some issues with having way too many crops, items, and materials to keep up with in Stardew Valley. Chests help with this but they are quite small. Fortunately, you can now craft a big chest in Stardew Valley that alleviates some of the storage issues, if you have its crafting recipe.

How to Get the Big Chest Recipe in Stardew Valley

First and foremost before you can craft a big chest, you need to find the crafting recipe for it. Fortunately, this is pretty easy to do. What you want to do is head to Robin’s house north of your farm. As you likely know, she sells various materials and other furniture items. In addition, she has crafting recipes like the one for the big chest that was introduced in update 1.6.

You can buy the big chest crafting recipe from her for only 5,000 gold, which is a meager price for how much it makes your life easier. Now that you have the recipe in hand, it is now possible to craft the big chest and start using it.

How to Craft the Big Chest

To craft the big chest in Stardew Valley, there are a couple of materials you’ll need. Here are the exact materials you’ll want to gather if you want to craft this valuable storage item:

  • 2 copper bars
  • 120 wood

These are fairly basic materials. The copper bars come from copper ore you can get in the mine, which you smelt to make copper bars. The wood, on the other hand, is a lot but you can get this quite fast by chopping down trees all day. The best part about the big chest is it holds up to 70 types of items, which is basically double that of a regular chest.

Stardew Valley is available for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
