The Summer Temple in Moonstone Island is one of four temples scattered among the various sky islands of the game. This important location is home to the plot important item: the Water Seal. Getting through the temple will require you to offer some items and defeat a tough boss.
Where is the Summer Temple in Moonstone Island?
The islands in Moonstone Island are mostly procedurally generated, but the Temples are in fixed locations. Go to the beach on Moonstone Island and fly directly east for at one island’s length. The Temple is a Water island, with the lower portion containing a stone pathway in a pool.
Ideally, you should use Broom to get here, as the distance and the Balloon’s slow travel speed will eat through your stamina.
Where Do You Find the Summer Temple Items in Moonstone Island?
Each of the altars in Moonstone Island’s Summer Temple requires an offering of specific items. The first of these items for the entrance altar are easy to find. Both the Beach Peach and Pinwheel Flower can be found during Summer on Earth and Water islands in large quantities.
For the first level altar, you’ll need a Lantern and a Jewelfish. The Lantern can be constructed at the Decoration Station, which can be built from the crafting menu with 20 Wood and an Iron Ingot. Once you have the Decoration Station, you’ll need Ash and an Iron Ingot, both of which can be created with a Furnace by smelting Wood and Iron Ore respectively.
The Jewelfish can be found in waters during Summer. It’s even possible to catch one in the water outside the temple, which is where I managed to find one.
The second level altar requires Sea Glass and a Moonstone. There is always one Moonstone hidden on each island during each season, and they can also be found in dungeons or as buried treasure. Sea Glass is a rare Spirit Resource that can be obtained by keeping a Water Spirit in your Spirit Barn.
How Do You Defeat the Summer Temple Boss in Moonstone Island?
The boss of Moonstone Island‘s Summer Temple is a large Level 20 slime called Tidan. This can be a tough fight as Tidan is accompanied by two Level 10 Dropples. All three of them love to apply layers of Regen to themselves, which means they are often healing big numbers.
Success in this battle requires you to counter this tactic. The best options are Poison and Electric Spirits, as they each have their own counters. Poisoning the opponents in this fight can be used to nullify the healing entirely, and it can affect their armor too. Electric types can use Charge to do massive amounts of damage that cut through the Regen figures. You also want to make sure your spirits have plenty of multi-attack cards, as getting rid of the Dropples quickly makes your life much easier.
