Why did Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League shut down its server?

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League had to shut its servers off merely hours into the early access due to a game-breaking bug. It was, technically, a game-finishing bug, but that’s not the point. This meant players who snagged a deluxe edition copy were already missing out on one of their bonuses.

This outage, though planned, highlighted that the game was so dependent on those servers. Because of this, fans, of course, want to know how to check the server status. So, how do you ensure the game is up and running before a session?

Confirming the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League server status

Well, to put it bluntly, you don’t. Unfortunately, there’s no system in place as of right now to check the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League server. If you fire up the game and it’s working, then the servers are just fine. However, if the servers are down, you’re not going to be able to play at all, even solo.

This is one of the many downsides to always online games. They are completely at the mercy of internet connections in both directions. If your game isn’t working, and you really want to deduce if a server issue is a culprit, your best shot is to check the official Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League X page. You’ll find the most up to date information there, just as when the servers went offline the first day of early access.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches February 2, 2024, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. A 72-hour early access period is available for deluxe edition owners.
