Where to Change Your Runes in Eiyuden Chronicle

Yep, unlike your equipment, you can’t just open up the main menu anywhere in the world and switch out runes for your party members, even if you find a new one. To change Runes in Eiyuden Chronicle, you need to visit rune shops, which are available in most (but not all) towns and cities in the world.

You can note the rune shop by its signature star-shaped symbol on the map in towns. Head here and you can speak with the robed NPC to switch out your runes. You’ll be able to remove runes from certain characters, swap them out with other party members, and so on here. Be sure to head to a rune shop anytime you need to switch runes.

How to Buy New Runes in Eiyuden Chronicle

Fortunately, it is quite easy to buy new runes in Eiyuden Chronicle at the same rune shops in towns and cities. The other option the NPC trader there gives you is to buy new runes. Unfortunately, there is a catch here, too. Most cities and towns have differing stock of runes. In one town, you might see runes that boost stats like strength and defense, while another town’s shop might have resistance to certain damage types.

This means you’ll have to keep track of which town sells which runes. In addition, you can’t equip new runes on a certain character until they reach a certain level, and some rune slots only allow for skills, passives, etc, so prepare for that. For instance, the main character Nowa unlocks new rune slots at the following levels about every 10 levels until 60.

Eiyuden Chronicle is available now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
