How to Catch Aeonian Alpha-Betta Exotic Fish in Destiny 2

The Aeonian Alpha-Betta Exotic fish is the third and final fish you must catch for Wicked Implement in Destiny 2. Like the two previous sea creatures, it can be tricky to snag on your rod. Here’s how to catch the Aeonian Alpha-Betta in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep.

How do I get the Aeonian Alpha-Betta Exotic fish in Destiny 2?

The Aenonian Alpha-Betta Exotic fish is a rare spawn at the Fish Pond in The Outskirts in the EDZ. To find the Fish Pond, travel to Winding Cove and then use your Sparrow to ride southwest. It will be highlighted on your map with a hook symbol and can be located in the overworld by following the beam of light.

You must have Bait to fish, which is earned via Seasonal Activities such as Deep Dives and Salvage and via Strikes, Crucible, Gambit, Patrols, Public Events, and by collecting resources on each planet. I’d recommend gathering at least 100 Bait before attempting to fish for the Aeonian Alpha-Betta since it is such a rare drop—though the more Bait you have, the better.

Once you’re at the Fish Pond, cast out your line and wait for a bite. Once your line is pulled underwater, reel in your catch. Make sure you’re fast when hitting the reel button to get a Perfect Catch, as this increases the Exotic fish drop rate. It also helps if the Focused Fishing bar is high for the Fish Pond, which is raised by catching Legendary or better fish.

I was lucky, and it only took me five catches before I scored the Aeonian Alpha-Betta, but I’ve seen other Guardians use hundreds of Bait before pulling one in. It’s purely down to random chance.

With the Aeonian Alpha-Betta Exotic fish in hand, fly to the H.E.L.M. and deposit it in the aquarium to receive a random Exotic weapon or armor roll and the Broken Blade of Cunning. This is the final Broken Blade needed to access the Omen Tormentor fight that leads to the Wicked Implement Exotic Scout Rifle in Destiny 2.

Note that you only have until August 22, 2023, at 10 AM PT to catch the Aenonian Alpha-Betta and score yourself Wicked Implement before Season of the Deep comes to a close.
