How do I build a bed for my character in Palworld?

There are two types of bed you can build for the player character in Palworld. The first of these is unlocked at level 3, and it will be essential in your early base building. The Shoddy Bed will allow you to rest at night, allowing you to recover HP and to skip straight to the next morning.

For the Shoddy Bed, you’ll need 20 Wood, 5 Fiber and 1 Wool. This means you’ll need to chop a few trees and capture some Lamballs to get the required materials.

This will be your only bed option for a while, until you reach Level 30. At this level, you can unlock the Fine Bed from the Technology tab. This bed offers better restorative properties when you sleep in it and visually looks better. This improvement comes with a big jump in material requirements though. You’ll need 10 Cloth, 50 Wood, 10 Nails and 20 Fiber.

While you can get by with the Shoddy Bed, you should build a Fine Bed as soon as you’re able. It is much better at healing you, so you’ll have better odds of survival.

How do I build beds for Pals in Palworld?

It’s not just your character that needs to sleep. Your Pals will all need to rest overnight too. If they don’t, they will lose Sanity and HP, which means they get worse at working on your base. To solve this, each Pal needs their own bed.

Pal beds are a different category of bed that’s much smaller than your own. There are three levels of Pal bed, although you’ll likely end up using two of them in later stages of the game.

The first Pal bed type you’ll be able to build in Palworld is a Straw Pal Bed. Unlocked alongside the Shoddy Bed, this needs only 10 Wood and 5 Fiber. Both materials are easily obtained from trees. These will serve you well for most of the game, but an upgrade can be unlocked at level 24.

The Fluffy Pal Bed offers better HP and Sanity recovery than the basic Straw Bed, meaning your Pals will be better rested and happier all around. To build one, you need 10 Cloth, 30 Wood, 5 Nails and 10 Fiber.

A third Pal Bed can be unlocked at Level 36. However, the Large Pal Bed is not an upgrade to the Fluffy Pal Bad. As the name suggests, it’s a bed for large Pals, so if you have some bigger Pals running around your base, this is the ideal bed for them. To build it, you will need 10 High-Quality Cloth, 60 Wood, 20 Nails and 30 Fiber.

This means the best Pal Beds in Palworld are the Fluffy Pal Bed and Large Pal Bed, depending on the characters’ sizes.

Palworld is out now in Early Access for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
