To acquire the Wicked Implement in Destiny 2, you must catch all three Exotic fish and put the three Broken Blades at their correct statues during the Deep Dives. However, defeating the Omen Tormentor within 10 minutes is crucial and incredibly difficult. Here are some tips to help you succeed.

How do I defeat the Omen Tormentor to get Wicked Implement in Destiny 2?

When I tell you that it took me over 50 tries to beat the Omen Tormentor with my Fireteam in Destiny 2, I’m not exaggerating. I tried almost every weapon and armor combination in the book, and only one finally secured my victory. While your Fireteam’s loadouts don’t need to be the exact same as mine, make sure someone brings Divinity. It’ll make your lives so much easier, trust me.

After hitting the three switches, taking out the enemies, and entering the Pyramid maze, you’ll be hunted down by the Omen, Blade of the Black Terrace Tormentor. It will chase you, so you must constantly move to avoid its devastating attacks—one wrong move can spell disaster for your team. The goal is to find and take out three Honed Minotaurs that, once defeated, will allow you to damage the Tormentor. Its glowing chest is its weak spot.

With the Omen Tormentor’s shields down, you’ll only have a minute or so to deal damage until its shields return. How much time you have left is indicated by the Deathly Sharp x3 buff timer on the left-hand side of the screen. Note that if everyone on your Fireteam dies, you’ll need to run through the entire Deep Dives again.

While not essential, it’s wise to have at least one Solar Warlock with Well of Radiance on your Fireteam for the damage phase. This way, you’re protected against the Omen Tormentor’s attacks and minimize any fatalities. If possible, set it up against a wall so that the Tormentor can’t bump you out of the Well while it’s buffing and healing you.

During the damage phase, the Fireteam member with Divinity (if you’re using it) needs to keep a constant bubble on the Tormentor, as it makes landing crit shots much easier for everyone. While the Divinity bubble is up, use a Power Weapon to deal chunks of damage. I personally used Thunderlord, but Outbreak Perfected, Briars Contempt, or Liner Fusion Rifles work well too. Whatever you can deal the most damage with quickly!

If your team is using Divinity, I’d also recommend saving your Super for when the Divinity bubble is up, as this causes devastating damage. Once the Tormentor’s shields are back up, rinse and repeat the method until it’s down. The Divinity user can also generate Heavy ammo for the group if they have the Cenotaph Mask Warlock helm. Not only will Divinity constantly be full of ammo, but this will allow teammates to use their Heavy weapons throughout the fight without worrying about running out of bullets.

Once the Omen Tormentor is finally down, go up the stairs and “Gain Audience” with the statue to receive the Wicked Implement Exotic Scout Rifle and the ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’ Triumph! Hard work is well-rewarded here.

Destiny 2 is available now on the PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.
