How to Beat Marie in Persona 5 Tactica

If you want to beat Marie, the first Kingdom boss in Persona 5 Tactica, it requires some strategy and awareness of her patterns. Here’s some tips for surviving your encounter with the would-be Bridezilla.

How to beat the battle with Marie in Persona 5 Tactica

You’ll want to be in cover every second of this battle. Also, try to space the characters a bit to avoid potential AoE concerns. It also doesn’t hurt to bring someone with a Dia or Media skill who can act as a healer, though if you play well enough you can skirt by with minimal damage.

Start by taking potshots at Marie from cover. You can hit her with some Persona attacks too, but just make sure you can hit her with a gun while completely in cover. On her second turn, she’ll start throwing bouquets. You’ll see yellow warning tiles around the bouquets, indicating that they’ll blow up next turn and the range of the damage they’ll deal.

Let’s send those back to the bride why don’t we? The game itself will suggest doing so after the first three she tosses out explode. Hit the bouquets with a physical attack to knock them back into her. This action not only damages her, but it knockers her down to set her up for an an all-out attack. Position your team strategically to capitalize on this chance for maximum impact.

Additionally, Marie can fixate on specific characters during parts of the battle. This will pull them out of cover to right next to her. When she focuses on a team member, quickly move them away or lure her into a bouquet to avoid serious damage. Smart positioning is key to survival.

After taking some damage, Marie will call in her “Just Married!” tank. Watch for yellow warning tiles that indicate her tank’s path. Stay off these tiles, she will completely run over cover too, so you need to be out of her path completely.

Continue taking potshots at her while avoiding her attacks and looking for chances to open her up with a bouquet attack. You can even knock bouquets into Marie’s path. This stops her in her tracks once she hits them, leaving her susceptible to an all-out attack. Carefully time and execute these moves to gain the upper hand.

How to handle Marie’s final phase

After bringing her health down, a cutscene will play and she’ll get into her car. Now, it seems Marie will be more or less invulnerable to your attacks, as they will deal zero damage. This final phase of the fight is more or less scripted, but you can still absolutely die.

Survive a couple of turns during this phase, staying in cover and avoiding any of Marie’s onslaught. Soon, the Phantom Thieves will hatch a plan to lure Marie into the center of the arena to destroy her vehicle.

After that scripted event, waiting for her to set up another one of her driving attacks. She will throw bouquets again. Hit one into her path either in or right outside the blue box. Doing this once is all it takes to stop her right in the box.

You’ll automatically defeat Marie in Persona 5 Tactica once she stops in the blue box. Enjoy the scenes that follow and wrap up the first arc of the game. Don’t worry, as there are still more kingdoms to visit.
