The culmination of Armored Core 6 Chapter 1 sees the challenge in this game skyrocket. While you could argue the first chapter of the game is only somewhat difficult, that all changes with AAP07 Balteus, the Chapter 1 boss who will test your mech pilot skills to the max. The Balteus fight in Armored Core 6 consists of two key phases you’ll have to deal with across the lengthy fight. The first phase is fairly simple, as your main goal here is to avoid the missiles Balteus launches at you repeatedly. Dodging and flying towards the boss usually helps with this.

Tips for Defeating AAP07 Balteus in Armored Core 6

The general tip I have for you during this fight is to work towards destroying AAP07 Balteus’ shields. Theese prevent you from dealing direct damage to the boss, so decimating it as fast as possible will give you the best chance to get through this fight swiftly.

The first phase ends once you are able to get Balteus down to only half of its max AP. At this point, the second phase starts, which is the much more challenging part. During this section, it repeats the missile launches, but also throws in some fiery arm attacks.

These are highly deadly and difficult to avoid. The goal here is to look at the direction from which the attack is coming from and then dodge it as fast as you can. You can also stay far away from the boss for these attacks, but it is difficult to deal damage and evade all of the missiles this way.

Given the tricky nature of this fight and how much dodging you’ll have to do, I highly suggest picking parts for your mech that give you a light and nimble build. Speed is the name of the game here, as you want to be able to move fast and attack fast so you can adequately dodge Balteus’ attacks and destroy its shields.

Armored Core 6 is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
