The Sujimon League is one of the new features in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It takes the pretty shallow Sujidex and features from the previous game, and gives them to a true Pokemon-like experience it needed from the start. Here is how to unlock the Sujimon League and our tips for the unique 3-on-3 battles.

How do I unlock the Sujimon League in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth?

You get the Sujidex in Infinite Wealth pretty early on in the game, before you even leave for Hawaii. That said, you are only able to fill it out at this point in time like in the previous game. If you want to actually unlock the Sujimon League, you need to continue in the main story until you reach Chapter 4 and are in Hawaii.

There is a point where the main story will take you to the Anaconda Shopping Center, where you will unlock the ability to become a Sujimon Trainer and be the best like no one ever was.

Tips for battling with Sujimon

Sujimon League battles take place with up to six party members on your team: three active members in three in reserve. You get one move per turn, with turn speed being determined by your Sujimon’s stats, so you have to pick carefully between your characters for who to make the next move. However, the game makes up for this by allowing the central member to hit all three opponents with that single move. As such, you always want to have your current attacker in the central position.

In addition, you want to pay attention to the weaknesses chart in the bottom left corner. If your opponent has a lot of red fire types, for instance, you want to use the blue water type to attack them and so on. The more battles you complete, the better your bond and levels will become with your Sujimon.

If you want to collect more Sujimon, all you need to do is partake in basic fights with Ichiban and the gang on the streets. After battles, you’ll have the opportunity occasionally to recruit a former opponent through a timing-based minigame. You can also use the gacha machine at the Sujimon store at the Anaconda Shopping Center to instantly get some new party members. Finally, Dondoko Farm is a feature of Dondoko Island you can later on unlock, which lets you train lots of Sujimon at once.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
