How long does it take to beat FFVII Rebirth Main Story?

For starters, let’s talk about the main story in this sequel remake. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth quite literally takes about as long as the original PS1 JRPG took to beat in its entirety, and it is only a chunk of the game. When I beat the game myself, I was at around 48 hours in total in the experience. However, I should note that it included a bunch of side content and way too much time playing the new Queen’s Blood card game.

Instead, I would say that about 35 hours of that time was spent on the actual main story on its own from start to finish. After talking to others, it seems like the general rule of thumb is it should take you about 35-40 hours to roll credits on this title without doing much else. If you do some side content like I did to romance certain characters and so on, you’ll probably take about 45-50 hours to beat the game.

How long to 100% FF7 Rebirth

However, how long it is to beat FFVII Rebirth and roll credits is quite different from 100% completing the game. Earning all of the trophies, getting the Platinum, completing all side quests, unlocking all intel, and so on will take you a very long time. Based on our time completing a single region and doing most of the side quests, it looks like this title will take you at least double the amount of time for the main story to 100% complete it.

Our estimations are around 120 hours to get the Platinum trophy at a bare minimum. And that is assuming you don’t have any issues with the bosses. Instead, it could take well over 150 hours to truly do everything this title has to offer, including all of the various minigames.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available right now exclusively for PS5.
