Disgaea games always have some kind of gimmick, and Disgaea 7 is no exception. Jumbification is one of the new mechanics that appears in Disgaea 7, which allows you to make characters massive and imbue them with extra power. And when I say massive, I mean it. Once a character is “Jumbified,” they will sit at the edge of the arena, pummeling the stage with powerful attacks or duking it out with another Jumbified character on the other side of the screen. This guide will break down just how Jumbificaiton works.

So how does Jumbification work in Disgaea 7

As mentioned previously, Jumbification is a new gimmick that effectively allows you transform one character into a skyscraper-sized version of themselves that will sit at the edge of the stage, effectively out of bounds. However, this will not make them immune to damage. They can actually be killed by other Jumbified units, or even standard units.

That said, Jumbification allows for Jumbified units to perform Gigasaster Attacks. These are unique attacks exclusive to this mode, and allows for these sorts of units to attack each other directly. That said, they can also attack units within the stage using separate abilities. Additionally, when a character is Jumbified, they grand special Jumbilities to units. For example, one is being able to increase the defense of a unit by a specific percentage when a main unit like Yeyasu is Jumbified.

In order to actually use Jumbification, players will need to build their “Rage Meter.” This can be done through attacking enemies or receiving damage. Once your Rage Meter is full, you can then Jumbify a character. This can be any character. You can pick from the main cast, or through characters you’ve recruited from your Netherworld and leveled up. Keep in mind, however, that characters like Fuji, Pirilika, Yeyasu, Ceefore, Higan, and Suisen will be the most beneficial to Jumbify just because they have an edge over random characters you can recruit.

When can I Jumbify in Disgaea 7

You will unlock Jumbification once you have reached the Episode 2, map 5 boss fight. A tutorial will play out explaining the mechanics. During that battle, the Rage Meter will basically remain full so you can test the ability out. After that point, it will be unlocked and available to use at all times.

Ideally, Jumbification can be used to knock out loads of enemies on the battlefield, which can make clearing stages a lot easier. But in general, there isn’t much use beyond general gimmick fights where an opponent will Jumbify as well.

Disgaea 7 is available on the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC in North America. It will come to Europe on October 6, 2023 and Australia on October 13, 2023.
