Hover: Revolt of Gamers Will Now Be Twice As Large

Futuristic parkour game Hover: Revolt of Gamers has reached its third stretch goal at $80,000. This means that the in-game city you’ll be playing in will be twice as large, with the addition of a new district.

In an update on their Kickstarter page, developer Midgar Studio also touched upon the development of a Wii U version of the game—which is the project’s fourth stretch goal at $100,000.

“As developers we want to bring to the Wii U an ambitious game that will use the specifications of the gamepad and its possibilities of asymetric game mode,” the studio wrote. However, they added, “Even if the WiiU is a console with a very decent performance, it’s kind of pale in comparison to the technical ambitions that we have for Hover.”

“That’s why we need to create a unique version for the console with specific optimization. The task is a lot harder because Hover is a huge, dense and dynamic openworld and we don’t want to release a Wii U game that doesn’t have a good local multiplayer mode.”

Hover: Revolt of Gamers is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Should a Wii U version of the game be developed, it will feature both a local multiplayer mode and some sort of asymmetric gameplay using the GamePad. Additionally, the PC version of the game will support the Oculus Rift.
