The September 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase was mainly about big reveals like Final Fantasy XVI and the system’s release date and price tag, but the PlayStation Blog had some follow-up announcements of its own. Namely, some PlayStation 4 ports. Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Horizon Forbidden West PS4 versions are both in development.
These came up alongside the Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS4 reveal. All three are in development, though Sony didn’t mention what the launch dates for Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Horizon Forbidden West may be. The former is a PS5 launch game, but the latter may show up in 2021.
The port announcements also brought up the upgrade situation. Sony confirmed that if people decide to go digital or physical for those three games, they will automatically all also get a PS5 upgrade. However, it did note that the physical copies will only offer a free upgrade if someone owns the standard PS5 that actually has a hard drive.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure will come to the PlayStation 5 at launch, which is November 12, 2020 in North America, Japan, Australia, and South Korea and November 19, 2020 everywhere else. The PS4 version should also be out around then. The Horizon Forbidden West PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
