People anticipating the PC Engine Mini console will have to wait on Hori’s new accessories. They have been delayed until April 30, 2020, due to the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus infection. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
Hori’s planned accessories will include a turbo controller, multi-tap accessory, and an AC adapter for the mini console. They all come in colors that match the PC Engine’s black, grey, and red design. Originally, these peripherals were set to launch on March 19, 2020. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait over a month to acquire any of these items.
Actually, the PC Engine has experienced similar delays. It was set to launch on March 19, 2020, but was delayed due to the on-going global pandemic. Currently, there is no new launch date and the console will be indefinitely pushed back until further notice. Some buyers in Japan were able to receive their preorders before the general delay was set in stone due to already manufactured consoles. Most buyers, however, will get their consoles once there’s a new release date.
The turbo controller will retail at ¥2,882 (~$26.40). The multi-tap will cost ¥3,465 (~$31.75). Finally, the AC adapter will be priced at ¥2,299 (~$21). All prices include tax, but not shipping.
