Which Relic set should I use with Yanqing in Honkai: Star Rail?

Yanqing’s main gimmick is his Soulsteel Sync, which automatically increases his Crit Rate and Crit DMG. Depending on your stats, Yanqing’s best relics in Honkai: Star Rail are Hunter of Glacial Forest and Musketeer of Wild Wheat. By mixing the two sets, you will increase both his Ice DMG and ATK by 10% each.

If your Yanqing already has high stats, though, a full set of Hunter of Glacial Forest can result in devastating damage by boosting his Ultimate and follow-up attack. Because he already has built-in CRIT with his battle mechanic, you will have some flexibility regarding which set you use with him.

Below is the list of the best Relics for Yanqing in Honkai: Star Rail:

  1. Hunter of Glacial Forest – 2 Piece: Increases Ice DMG by 10% / Musketeer of Wild Wheat – 2 Piece: ATK increases by 12%.
  2. Hunter of Glacial Forest – 2 Piece: Increases Ice DMG by 10% / 4 Piece: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their CRIT DMG increases by 25% for two turns.
  3. Musketeer of Wild Wheat – 2 Piece: ATK increases by 12% / 4 Piece: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

These are his best Planar Ornament sets:

  1. Space Sealing Station – 2 Piece: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer’s ATK increases by an extra 12%.
  2. Inert Salsotto – 2 Piece: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.

And here’s what stats you should focus on rolling on Yanqing’s Relics:

  1. Body: CRIT DMG.
  2. Feet: ATK or SPD.
  3. Sphere: Ice DMG.
  4. Link Rope: ATK.

Which Light Cone should I use for a Yanqing build in Honkai: Star Rail?

Yanqing’s best Light Cone in Honkai: Star Rail is In the Night. The 5-star weapon increases his CRIT Rate by a staggering 18%. More importantly, though, the cone sees Yanqing’s Skill and Ultimate get substantially buffed in damage across the board as well. Not everyone wants to drop money to afford the signature weapon, though, which is totally understandable. Thankfully, he has a 5-star Light Cone that can be earned for free.

In Herta’s Space Station, you can purchase Cruising the Stellar Sea Light Cone for eight Herta Bonds. The powerful weapon can be picked up at no cost after grinding enough in the game’s Simulated Universe mode. The alternative cone also buffs his CRIT Rate while also giving a decent boost to his ATK stat. Yanqing has a wide variety of free-to-play Light Cones that work nicely with his build, so there is plenty to choose from.

These are the best Light Cones for Yanqing in Honkai: Star Rail:

  1. In the Night – Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 18%. While the wearer is in battle, for every 10 SPD that exceeds 100, the DMG of the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill is increased by 6% and the CRIT DMG of their Ultimate is increased by 12%. This effect can stack up to six times.
  2. Sleep Like the Dead – Increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG by 30%. When the wearer’s Basic ATK or Skill does not result in a CRIT Hit, it increases their CRIT Rate by 36% for one turn. This effect can only trigger once every three turns.
  3. Cruising in the Stellar Sea – Increases the wearer’s CRIT rate by 8%, and increases their CRIT rate against enemies with HP less than or equal to 50% by an extra 8%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, their ATK is increased by 20% for two turns.
  4. Swordplay – For each time the wearer hits the same target, DMG dealt increases by 8%, stacking up to five times. This effect will be dispelled when the wearer changes targets.
  5. River Flows in Spring – After entering battle, increases the wearer’s SPD by 8% and DMG by 12%. When the wearer takes DMG, this effect will disappear. This effect will resume after the end of the wearer’s next turn.
  6. Only Silence Remains – Increases the wearer’s ATK by 16%. If there are two or fewer enemies on the field, it increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate by 12%.

Although Yanqing has a built-in CRIT Rate and DMG buff, be warned that the character loses his Soulsteel Sync the second he gets hit in battle. Even with the best Relics and Light Cone equipped, you will need to protect him at all costs. Yanqing really shines the most when there is a Shield teammate to draw damage away from him.

Honkai: Star Rail is currently available for the PC and mobile devices and will arrive on the PS5 in 2023.
