Ahead of her playable debut in Honkai: Star Rail, HoYoVerse has uploaded a trailer for Kafka. The title of the trailer is “A Dramatic Irony,” and it’s available in all four languages, just like the game. The trailer is similar to an action or heist movie, with a mix of modern and classical music that suits Kafka’s personality and aesthetic.

It’s also available in Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean. There are also references to movies and theater in the trailer, such as “Fin” and “Intermission.” This is likely due to the current web event going on, in which the Stellaron Hunters trio appear in mock-ups of famous movie posters.
Both the Kafka trailer and the BiliBili teaser video that HoYoVerse released earlier this week focus a lot on what fear she inspires in her enemies. Considering Kafka herself cannot feel any fear, the concept of this emotion will likely be a large part of her story and Companion Mission (which will launch in the game in the second half of Version 1.2).
HoYoVerse previously revealed some information on how Kafka will work in Honkai: Star Rail. A basic version of her was playable in the tutorial. But she will have more of a DoT-oriented kit when she debuts in the gacha on August 9, 2023. Kafka will be a 5-star Lightning Nihility character.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PC. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
