Bandai Namco announced that Hololive Vtuber Minato Aqua will join the roster of SAO: Last Recollection as a new playable character. Players will be able to add the popular performer to the game when a free update releases on March 7, 2024.
To unlock Minato Aqua as a playable character in SAO: Last Recollection, players will have to update the game to Version 1.15 first once the patch goes live. Once this is done, a sub-quest titled “Visitor” will become available in the game. Minato Aqua will join your party upon clearing the quest. To start the quest, players need to talk to the character inspired by the Vtuber at the Trading Street after “The New Mistletoe” main quest in Chapter 3.
As a reminder, Bandai Namco released the Ritual of Bonds Volume 1 paid DLC for Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, and it added new stories, a new map, and new outfits to the game on January 2024.
Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is immediately available worldwide on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The new Minato Aqua free DLC will be available on March 7, 2024 once the patch is released and players install it.
