Entergram announced that it will stop development on the sequel for Aquarium, which was the romantic visual novel made by Minato Aqua of hololive. This is due to Aqua’s graduation, which will take place on August 28, 2024.
The full announcement is available on the company’s X (formerly Twitter) account. It apologizes to everyone who was waiting for a new Aquarium game, but hopes that people can understand the reasons as to why it had to. At the end of the message, it reminded people that the current Aquarium game is still available online and you will be able to buy it even after Minato Aqua graduates.
Minato Aqua announced her graduation on August 6, 2024, stating that she would graduate on August 28, 2024. The talent behind the personality said that this was due to creative differences with Cover and hololive, though didn’t give more reason beyond that. She doesn’t want people to speculate online about her reasons. Minato Aqua debuted with hololive on August 8, 2018 as part of the company’s second generation. Other VTubers who debuted alongside her include Oozora Subaru and Murasaki Shion. As of the time of writing, Aqua has over 2.08 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
Aquarium is available on the Windows PC, Nintendo Swich, and PS4. The Aquarium sequel is no longer in development.
