Hololive’s Cover and Nijisanji’s Anycolor have been spotted removing a number of gameplay stream archives from their Vtubers’ channels. The list of Vtubers affected includes Usada Pekora and Houshou Marine from Hololive, as well as Tsukino Mito and Hanabatake Chaika from Nijisanji. All of the archives removed from the Hololive and Nijisanji Vtuber channels also happened to feature the game titled Bunny Garden. [Thanks, Inside Games.]
Bunny Garden is a Japanese dating simulation game that Qureate released for Nintendo Switch and PC in April 2024. It features the player visiting the eponymous bar to interact and build relationships with its staff members. The game does not contain any explicit scenes as it made its way to the Switch with a Japanese CERO rating of D. Nevertheless, the sexually suggestive theme is still largely seen as grounds for the archives’ removals.
Tsukino Mito has also posted a tweet on her X account, confirming that a number of gameplay streams on her channel are being gradually made private. She noted a policy from her company as a reason behind the archives’ disappearances. Mito added that it may be more difficult for her and other Vtubers under Anycolor to stream games with sexual themes in the near future.
It is yet to be seen whether this policy from the companies behind Hololive and Nijisanji will also apply to other games with sexually suggestive elements besides Bunny Garden. Inside Games noted that Usada Pekora’s archived stream of Koei Tecmo’s Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation is still available as of mid-June 2024. In addition, the stream archives of Atlus’ Catherine: Full Body by Pekora and Nijisanji’s Furen E Lustario are also still watchable at the same time.
