Hollywood Director James Gunn Created Lollipop Chainsaw’s Story And Characters

Earlier today, we reported that Hollywood director, James Gunn (Dawn of the Dead), is collaborating in some manner with Grasshopper Manufacture and overseas publisher, Warner Bros., on Lollipop Chainsaw. On his personal blog, Gunn details just what he’s doing.

 

“About a year ago, Warner Bros came to me and asked me if I wanted to be involved with a video game, Lollipop Chainsaw, being developed by the great Goichi Suda AKA Suda51 and Grasshopper,” Gunn writes. “They showed me some test footage of the chainsaw-wielding high school cheerleader and I was blown away by its mix of graphic violence, fun, and glittery goodness.”

 

Gunn says he signed on and helped Grasshopper develop Lollipop Chainsaw’s story, dialogue, and characters. This affects the original game itself, not just the English version of the game. Gunn also worked with the American actors and voice artists to create the characters.

 

Finally, Gunn says that Lollipop Chainsaw will also feature people that have been involved with his films and other projects. The game will be released outside Asian territories by Warner Bros. in 2012.
