By Today, 07th Expansion and Kadokawa announced that Higurashi When They Cry is getting another new project. You can check out the reveal trailer above.
As the reveal is for a ‘new project’ and not ‘new anime project’, it could also be something different that happens to feature animated cutscenes. However, both the Twitter and teaser website feature the term ‘anime’ in them.
A main visual showing Rena was also shared. The anime (sections) will be produced by Infinite (Shirobako, Tari Tari, Hataraku Maoh-sama!), with the main animation studio being Passione. Akio Watanabe joins the staff as the character designer.
The most recent game release of Higurashi When They Cry was Higurashi When They Cry Hou on Nintendo Switch. The game is immediately available in Japan.
