Hideo Kojima is not involved with the development of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The confirmation came during a Q&A during the Metal Gear Production Hotline event streamed online.
The producer of Metal Gear Solid Delta, who is Noriaki Okamura, took questions from the audience about the remake, with the first being about Hideo Kojima and other original staff. While Okamura stated that he would love Kojima and other members of the original team to be involved, they’ve all moved on to other projects. However, he did confirm that the entire original team for the original Snake Eater would be credited in the final game, in the same way the original teams were credited for the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection.
A later question confirmed that some of the original Snake Eater team members were working on Metal Gear Solid Delta. These staff members were not confirmed by name, however.
Okamura also revealed that Virtuos were working with Konami on the remake, due to their experience with Unreal Engine 5. Virtuos previously worked on Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and Switch ports of games such as XCOM and Nier Automata. They also provided support for Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel.
While he is not involved with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Hideo Kojima does have a few projects of his own in the works. He is currently working on a sequel to Death Stranding and a mysterious horror game named O.D. for Xbox.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will release for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on an unannounced date.
