Hideo Kojima Discusses Kojima Productions’ New Ideas In An Amusing Interview

Metal Gear Solid director, Hideo Kojima, recently revealed on Twitter that he would not be attending E3 this year. However, as an alternative, he opted to record a half-amusing, half-informative video interview with localization firm 8-4’s Mark McDonald, formerly an editor at EGM magazine, which you can watch below.

Kojima discusses his “Transfarring” concept, by which he hopes to enable PS3-to-PSP/NGP cross-compatible saves. His next game, he says, will be transfarring-enabled.

He also touches upon his development studio’s new game engine, the “Fox Engine,” which will be used to create games across the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The Fox Engine, Kojima says, will allow Kojima Productions to cut down on development time.

Food for thought:

Be honest — how many of you cried at the references to Zone of the Enders 3 and Snatcher 2? I know someone must have!
