Heroes of Ruin Sales Buried In Ruins

Heroes of Ruin, n-Space’s attempt at creating a Diablo-like game for the Nintendo 3DS, has not sold satisfactorily says studio co-founder, Dan O’Leary.

Speaking with Super Philip Central (via: GoNintendo), O’Leary remarks: “We’re not satisfied with the sales. The 3DS attach rate is… challenging at best and it seems that, for all its promise, Heroes of Ruin did not appeal to enough of the installed base.”

He adds: “I am super pleased with what we made and would love to return to the genre one day, but I fear that Heroes did not have enough commercial impact to justify a sequel.”

Heroes of Ruin was released in June and July in Europe and North America respectively. Something that possibly hurt the game is that it didn’t really catch one’s eye, visually speaking. Square Enix also published the game extremely close to Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance—both also for 3DS—in North America and Europe.
