Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS has items based on classic Bandai Namco games, and one of these is the Boss Galaga item.
Over on Miiverse, director Masahiro Sakurai showed the item off, stating: “If you get caught in the Boss Galaga item’s tractor beam, it will carry you away to the top of the screen. You can shoot it down, but it won’t join you in battle for double the firepower.”
In addition to the items that can appear in the game’s stages, Pac-Man’s taunt includes references to other Namco games a well. Using his up taunt causes Namco characters from the ‘80s to pop up in his hand.
