Without a doubt, Diablo IV contains one of the most cinematic and impressive campaigns in the entire series to date. The journey across Sanctuary and its massive open world with other players is a trip, but you could argue that the story is mainly for certain players. As such, you might want to know how to skip the campaign in Diablo IV.

How to Skip Right to the Good Stuff in Diablo IV

In the event you want to skip the campaign in Diablo IV, there is a key way to do this. There is a single requirement you must meet to skip the campaign, but it is a daunting one. Simply put: you must complete the entire story mode and make it to the endgame on a single character.

So long as you beat the game, roll credits, and all that on a single character on your account, you’ll be good to go. You can then make any character from then on and during the character creator screen, you’ll have the option to skip the campaign for them.

In addition, let’s say that you start the game with a Sorceress but decide to switch to Druid. If you ever go back to that Sorceress or any previously created character in the middle of the campaign, you can also choose to skip the story for them, too, so long as you already beat the game with your other character.

Should You Skip the Campaign in Diablo IV?

Now, the question remains: should you skip the campaign in Diablo IV? I would say, for the most part, that’s an easy yes. You already beat the story, the main bosses, and seen most of the world/story content already. There is no need to retread through all of that.

If you are just trying to get an endgame character for all five classes, you should go ahead and skip the campaign. This is especially true if you are trying to play Season 1 content, for instance. Even if you want to take your time and learn the new class, you can still do that; you’ll just have to find lower-level areas and forge your own path.

The one downside to skipping the campaign is all it does is set you out into the entire open world. The map will still be undiscovered for that character solely—not your main character—so you’ll have to re-explore everything. But you’ll at least have your horse and portals to all towns to make things easier.

Diablo IV is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
