Nintendo held its first 2024 Direct simultaneously worldwide on February 21, 2024. The company published separate videos dedicated to audiences in each country and region, including Japan. The Japanese Nintendo Direct has been known to feature several titles exclusive to the country, and the February 2024 release is no different, so here are all the Switch games in it.
One of the main highlights of the Japanese show is a remake of Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsk ni Kiyu (Hokkaido Serial Murder: Gone in Okhotsk). This title is an investigative visual novel written by Yuji Horii, who also previously made The Portopia Serial Murder Case before he became famous with Dragon Quest. The game originally came out for PC-6001 and PC-8801 in 1984, before it found its way to the Family Computer (NES) in 1987. G-Mode will release the new remake in Summer 2024, which will feature fully detailed character and background illustrations with Japanese voiceovers. Yuji Horii will also return to supervise a brand-new continuation story taking place in 2024.
The Japanese Direct also newly revealed FuRyu’s new action game Reynatis and Genius Sorority’s The New Denpa Men RPG Free, the latter of which will be available as a free-to-play game. It also exclusively featured titles like Koei Tecmo’s horse racing simulation game Winning Post 10 2024 and an expansion to Square Enix’s online game Dragon Quest X.
