Hatsune Miku: Project Diva MegaMix has shipped over 150,000 units across Japan and Asia, Sega has announced. That number accounts for physical copies of the game shipped to retail stores, as well as digital downloads by users. The game is scheduled for release in the U.S. and Europe later this year.
Last month, Sega had announced that the physical version of Project Diva MegaMix was facing shortages in Japan (likely because the publisher and retailers had underestimated demand for the game). At the time, Sega had encouraged prospective buyers to purchase a digital version of the game via the Nintendo eShop.
Meanwhile, Sega has also revealed that Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone DX on the PlayStation 4, released in 2016, has moved over 450,000 units globally. That game was a free download with add-on content that users could purchase, and sales are a sum of its “Future Sound” and “Colourful Tone” DLC purchases.
