Hatsune Miku Is Going to Be Space Channel 5 VR’s Next Reporter

It looks like it won’t be Ulala’s Swingin’ Report Show anymore. Hatsune Miku Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! DLC has been confirmed. While a date hasn’t been announced for the add-on yet, Grounding confirmed that people who get it will be able to have Miku join Ulala as she participates in dance offs against aliens. While this might seem a bit odd, a Hatsune Miku Space Channel 5 VR collaboration isn’t all that weird. The Hatsune Miku: Project Diva games are handled by Sega, after all, and Space Channel 5 is a Sega IP.

Moreover, we’ve already seen Miku dressed up as a Space Channel reporter before. One of her modules in multiple games, including Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone, is called Space Channel 5. It is a white outfit that looks identical to Ulala’s, complete with blaster and headset. Miku also has pink hair in this outfit. There’s also Space Channel 39, an original outfit for the Vocaloid that is inspired by the series, but uses her black and green color scheme and uses her signature number as the station number.

Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! is available immediately for the PlayStation VR in North America. It will come to Europe and Japan on February 26, 2020.
