Harvest December Visual Novel Series To Be Localized For The West

In Japan, the Nintendo 3DS is getting a series of visual novels called the Harvest December series. The series consists of thirteen chapters, and so far, three have been released in Japan—Harvest December, Boundaries in January and Lovely March.

Originally released for PC, the Nintendo 3DS versions of Harvest December are being released via the Nintendo eShop by Circle Entertainment and Flyhigh Works. Circle, who are known for publishing a number of eShop games in both the west and in Asia, have been looking into localizing the series for some time now.

This week, Circle tweeted that they’ve managed to find a translator to work on the Harvest December games. They stated: “The good news is we received some contacts from translator, if everything are fine we can expecting Decemeber Series (ENG version) soon.”

Translation work on the games has yet to begin, and Circle CEO Chris Chau tells us it’s a long road ahead, but it’s nice to know that we can expect to see these games make it over at some point.

The Nintendo 3DS is actually home to a number of visual novel-style games that rarely make it over to the west. For instance, BlazBlue developer Arc System Works have released a number of games via the Nintendo eShop, and some of these have been very interesting visual novel adventure-style projects. Two that come to mind are Girl of the Old School Building and Ghost Detective: Shida’s Ayakashi Case Book.
