People have been sharing images of outlandish or incredibly large Tekken 8 costume cheats, and Producer Katsuhiro Harada says these cheaters will be banned. He addressed these issues, while also clarifying that the outfits shown in the example trailers online aren’t custom skins.
First, Harada shared a video shared with him that showed someone playing as Alisa that turned her into a gigantic metal box. When commenting on it, he noted this was a case of someone cheating and they would be banned.
In the second example, Harada noted people should capture and report such videos with the #T8_report hashtag with the player’s name and region. In this video example, someone used a giant hat with butterfly wings on Yoshimitsu when facing someone using Lili.
However, another tweet from Harada suggested that the team may distinguish between cheaters using costume cheats to break Tekken 8 and those with custom skins. He brought this up when clarifying the process the team goes through when banning someone for these actions.
As a reminder, people will be able to get various custom costumes officially from the Tekken Shop in-game.
Tekken 8 is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
