The newest character of Fragaria Memories is Hangyon, a Knight of Sanrio mascot Hangyodon. Ozaki Domino is the illustrator of the character, and Shohei Matsuoka is his voice actor. Despite his Korean-like name, it seems he originates from China, much like Hangyodon. The first thing Hangyon says in his introduction is, “Ni hao.”
According to Hangyon’s bio, he is a Fragaria who approached the lonely Hangyodon to form a contract. He often talks and acts suspiciously, and it’s impossible to tell what he is thinking. He also has a strange octopus-like being (whose color scheme looks like Kingyochan) on his shoulder, which he claims is his friend.
In Fragaria Memories, Hangyon is a member of the Noir Bouquet. Other members include Chaco, Arupek, and Tuxam. Tomorrow, Sanrio will unveil the final member of the group. After that, we’ll finally know all of the Knights that’ll appear in future Fragaria Memories projects.
Ozaki Domino is an illustrator, character designer, and apparel designer. You can check out their works via their official website, Twitter, or Pixiv. As for Shohei Matsuoka, he has mostly appeared as background characters in animes and drama CDs. Sanrio first released Hangyodon in 1985. He is a nice person who likes to make others laugh and doesn’t like to be alone. Though he dreams of becoming a hero one day, things almost never work out for him.
More information on what works Sanrio will produce as part of Fragaria Memories will come out in the future.
