Studio Nanafushi is bringing its hack-and-slash RPG Dead or School to consoles, and the developer announced that Japan will get it on PS4 and Switch sometime in August, with a physical release in the works.

In Dead or School Tokyo has been taken over by zombies, and you play as the school girl protagonist named Hisako who grew up an underground shelter of Tokyo and now uses her arsenal of tools to clear out the undead and other bizarre monsters with everything from customizable skills to costume breaks.

The game is currently in early-access on Steam and is expected to launch next month with its Ver. 6.00 update.

Zombies conquered the land of Tokyo.
Without hope, in underground shelters, people lived quietly.
Hisako, a girl who grew up underground, heard the word “school” from her grandmother.
School is where children play and learn.  It is a paradise for young people.  The best place to spend their youth.
Hisako dreamed of this “school”, and one day, she was on an underground train heading above ground.  What awaits her? Despair…

Dead or School releases in Japan in August 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game is currently available on PC via Steam with English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese language support.
