Gunmetal Acadia Zero, a sidescrolling action game that draws inspiration from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link for its combat and gameplay, will be available for free during its Itch.io launch week.

Gunmetal Arcadia Zero will have players choosing a side in a bitter elven conflict in the city of Arcadia. What side the player chooses will dictate how they arm themselves, granting them access to different weapons, sub-weapons, and spells to use against the enemies that skulk in the dungeons and forests throughout the game’s six worlds.

Gunmetal Arcadia Zero’s developer has taken special care to ensure it has a retro look, offering several CRT modes to give the game various filters, each making it look like a different style of old TV. These can all be turned off should the player prefer to play with none of them, though.

The game was originally released as a Humble Bundle exclusive for subscribers of the monthly bundle, but is available for free, or by donation, from now until November 8. After that date, it will go on sale for $5.99. Players who donate at least $3.99 this week will receive the game’s soundtrack for free.

A Greenlight campaign is also ongoing to get the game onto Steam.
