Bandai announced the release dates for its upcoming arcade game, Mobile Suit Gundam: Arsenal Base. It will officially appear in arcades on February 24, 2022. However, the company also announced that several arcade centers in Japan will have the game with base functionalities one week earlier on February 17, 2022.
The company will also sell two Arsenal Base starter decks based on Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Iron-Blooded Orphans. Each deck will contain cards for five pilots and their Mobile Suits. The decks will allow players to immediately field a full team in Mobile Suit Gundam: Arsenal Base. Those in Japan will be able to purchase a single deck from hobby stores for ¥500 (around $4), or they can pre-order a full package containing both decks at ¥1,100 (around $10) from Premium Bandai and Amazon Japan.
Bandai initially revealed Arsenal Base in January 2021, with plans to release it within the same year. The new arcade game will become a successor to Gundam Try Age, which shut down in May 2021. However, the coronavirus pandemic affected the company’s plans to release it in a timely fashion. It didn’t hold location tests for Arsenal Base until December 2021 and January 2022.
