IGN’s Summer of Gaming event was originally meant to take place last week. Of particular interest were a set of planned events-slash-reveals for three upcoming Japanese games. The list comprises Guilty Gear Strive, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. The whole event was delayed to June 10, 2020, due to an industry-wide show of support for the Black Lives Matter movement. IGN has updated the full dates for the event, and that includes an outline of all the planned events and announcements. Now, people will want to tune in on June 10th and 12th to catch these reveals for these three titles.
On June 10th, we’ll get a good look at Yakuza: Like a Dragon. IGN’s Summer of Gaming kicks off that day at 1:45pm PT, with a preshow starting at 12pm. The day will be full of previews and trailers, and Yakuza‘s part will show both exclusive, new gameplay footage and an interview segment. After that, on June 12th, IGN starts the show at 2:50pm PT and will include the exclusive reveal of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim from Sega and Atlus. Arc System Works will also be debuting a new character with its usual trailer format.
The “IGN Expo” part of the event, which will be the more E3-like content, will altogether run on June 10th, 11th, 12th, and 15th. The whole Summer of Gaming will run much longer with partner events, including EA Play and the Guerilla Collective, through June 25th.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is coming to the PlayStation 4. Guilty Gear Strive was delayed to early 2021 for the PlayStation 4. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide in 2020.
