Granblue Fantasy Uma Musume Crossover Event Receives a Date

Cygames has revealed the official release date for its planned crossover event between  Granblue Fantasy and  Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.  According to a Tweet from the official account, the event will kick off on February 8, 2022. The crossover was first teased in December 2021 During the Granblue Fes 2021 live event. Its Japanese title translates to ” Uma Musume: Pretty Derby –Fanfare Echoing through the Blue Sky .

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is a mobile game also developed and operated by Cygames. It’s a “raising”-style RPG, where players spend most of their time developing and upgrading their chosen team of horse girls. compete in races, and perform songs onstage in idol-style events.

Cygames didn’t broadcast any other new details in the announcement, but the teases from December promised at least two new  Uma Musume  additions to the Granblue Fantasy  playable roster. Due to an ongoing freeze on new voice recordings due to COVID-19 prevention measures, In previous instances of voiceover suspension for Granblue Fantasy , Cygames added voiceover later on to the archived and rerun versions of the affected event.

The horse girls Special Week, Silence Suzuka, and Tokai Teio will join as a single playable unit (much like the combo characters from the  Love Live!  Crossover ).

Meanwhile, Meijiro McQueen and Vtuber / Uma Musume mascot Gold Ship join as a summon.

Granblue Fantasy  and  Uma Musume are available on mobile platforms (and PC via browser for Granblue ). Granblue Fantasy has a full English language option, though  Uma Musume does not. To date, Cygames has not announced an official global release or localization plans for the Uma Musume game. A two-season anime adaptation is available for streaming on Crunchyroll .
