Unfortunately, yes, Granblue Fantasy, the smartphone RPG by Cygames will be delayed. Scheduled initially for today, the 17th of December, Cygames posted that the smartphone title—which has Nobuo Uematsu and Final Fantasy VI art director Hideo Manaba working on it—is looking to brush itself up with further polish given the spare time.
As one other reason, the developers cited heavy demand expectation for the delay as well, saying they are looking into ways to maintain server load when the game goes live. What’s this? A game that might launch without typical launch day woes? Impossible!
There’s no word on when the game will be released now, but we’ll keep you informed when we get news of that.
