Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphony Digital revealed Gran Turismo Sport for PlayStation 4 at Paris Games Week.
Building on its legacy as the most realistic and accessible driving simulator, GT Sport has partnered with the FIA to push the boundaries of racing games. In addition to everything you’d expect from a GT, the team at Polyphony and the FIA are introducing an online racing series that will be recognised alongside real world motor racing by the FIA.
The game is expected to be the most realistic of the series, additionally, the developers aim to add more than that with two main features. The Nation Cup will have you represent your home country. The other is the Manufacturer Fan Cup, where players will get to represent their favorite manufacturers.
The world final is an annual live event where all country and manufacturer representatives gather once a year. Winners of the cups will be awarded alongside FIA sanctioned race winners in Paris during the Christmas season, alongside the likes of famous racers like Lewis Hamilton.
Beta testing for Gran Turismo Sport will start sometime in early 2016. The developers are also working on the game for PlayStation VR.
