The Goonies Collides With Link to the Past In Crossing Souls

Crossing Souls is a story-driven adventure about a group of friends who find a mysterious artefact during the summer of 1986 that allows them to interact between the world of the dead, as well as the living.

The game has a bit of an 1980s film vibe to it, specifically The Goonies and Wargames, in how the young friends accidentally stumble into a government conspiracy and decide to meddle with what they find.

The priority of developer FourAttic is upon exploration, puzzle-solving, and interaction with NPCs. That said, it will have some RPG elements, which are informed in part by Link To The Past, and the latest update to Crossing Souls further details the combat system.

Each character has their own weapon, with a redheaded girl called Charlie defending herself with a colorful whip, Big Joe uses the weight of his gut to roly-poly through enemies, and the geek called Math fires a red NES Zapper.

As well as ghoulish minions, there will be bosses to defeat, the first of which has been revealed to be a ghostly bus driver and his army of kids. A work-in-progress T-Rex has also been shown off.

If you want to keep up with the development of Crossing Souls, you can follow its website. It will be coming to Windows, Mac, and Linux when it is finished.
