Good Smile Company announced on social media that it is working on a Garfield Nendoroid. Rather than being based on the new The Garfield Movie film, which debuted on May 24, 2024, the reveal specified it is based on the cartoon appearing on Nickelodeon.
Unlike some Good Smile Company Nendoroid announcements, there’s no concept art for the Garfield figure. Sometimes, it will offer an idea of how an upcoming character will look in the Nendoroid chibi style. Instead, it only used his official art from the cartoon.
Here’s how that looks:
This isn’t the only recent Garfield figure to appear. YouTooz announced a Hatsune Miku one dressed as Garfield the cat. That debuted on May 24, 2024, the same day as the new movie.
It isn’t uncommon for Good Smile Company to make a Nendoroid of a cartoon or comic character like this. There is one of Snoopy from Peanuts, as an example. That launched back in February 2024.
The Garfield Nendoroid is in development, and there’s no release window for it yet. The Garfield Movie film based on the comic is now in theaters in North America. The cartoon appears on Nickelodeon. The original comic can be found on Go Comics.
