God of War Retrospective Panel Shares Interesting Development Stories

Recommended Videos

Sony’s Santa Monica Studio conducted a God of War retrospective panel at the PlayStation Experience event this past weekend. Sony have now shared an archived version of the panel via their PlayStation YouTube channel.

The panel features a group of designers from Santa Monica—including God of War II director Cory Barlog—discussing the origins of the series and sharing development stories, as well as sharing their thoughts on the modern action genre as a whole.

Interestingly, the developers lament the fact that God of War helped popularize quick-time events in action games, admitting that they felt even they had a tendency to overdo it at times. You can watch the panel in its entirety above.
