South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee added ratings for Capcom’s Ghost Trick and Sony’s Syphon Filter 3. The government body issued new ratings for both, which are each more than a decade old. [Thanks, Gematsu!]
According to the GRAC listings, the Syphon Filter 3 ratings are for both the PS5 and PS4. Syphon Filter 3 is a PS1-era game that is about to celebrate its 21st birthday. The rating may hint at the game’s appearance as part of the PlayStation Plus Premium game catalog. The previous two PS1-era Syphon Filter titles are available via the PSN store and the PS Plus Premium library. Two other PS2-era Syphon Filter games, Dark Mirror, and Logan’s Shadow, were also rated by the GRAC for PS4 and PS5 in 2022. They have yet to appear on the service, though.
Meanwhile, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective first released on the Nintendo DS. The game the ghost of a murdered detective, Sissel. Lacking memories and the ability to interact normally with his environment, Sissel needs to solve his own murder and catch the criminals at large by possessing and manipulating objects. The game became a cult hit and was ported to iOS devices. However, it hasn’t appeared anywhere else since then.
The GRAC rating of Ghost Trick doesn’t list a specific platform, but does use a code format for PC releases (both for PC-exclusive and multiplatform games). It also attributes the rating to publisher Gamepia, which is known for handling the distribution of Capcom games in Korea. This could hint at a planned remaster or rerelease of the game.
Syphon Filter 3 is available on PS1. Ghost Trick is available on Nintendo DS and iOS.
