Arc System Works announced that the GGPO rollback network implementation is coming soon to the PC version of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R. Additionally, the developers will conduct public testing for the GGPO update starting October 29, 2020.

GGPO is middleware that uses rollback networking. To give you a basic idea of how it works, instead of waiting for the players’ inputs, GGPO does its best to predict and simulate the next moves so that when it happens, it happens without any delay. If the player doesn’t input the actions as expected, it rolls back to the previous state by revising it to the current frame. Thus the term “rollback.”

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Arc System Works also released the game for arcades in Japan and worldwide for PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox 360.
